Evaluation length

Evaluation length refers to the part of a given length extracted from the profile in order to determine arithmetic mean deviation and other roughness parameters. An evaluation length must contain at least one sampling length. Generally, an evaluation length is five times the corresponding sampling length. However, there are no specific rules on evaluation lengths used for waviness parameters.
